WEST HAM 2-1 WOLVES – U21 PREMIER LEAGUE 2 REPORT

Mark Robson’s U21’s have been in search of their 1st win this season, a mixture of players stepping up to the senior squad has not helped but its a promising sign that they are developing, and getting an opportunity to either train or be part of the senior squad.

Monday nights game v Wolves was an important one for the team to gain some momentum.

Players Return On A High

West Ham brought in all the senior debutants back into the side, Ollie Scarles , Divin Mubama, Kaelan Casey, Kamarai Swyer, Freddie Potts, Keenan Appiah-Forson & Harrison Ashby all started.

The game barely kicked off and both teams had an immediate chance at goal, Divin Mubama fresh from his goal (yes we called it) in Europe midweek had a chance blocked by Oliver Kipton of Wolves. The 1st 20 minutes came and went with the majority of play from West Ham.

27 mins: GOAL – West Ham 1-0 Wolves (Swyer )

Our hard work paid off when in the 27th minute Kamarai Swyer latched onto a well timed low cross from the fit again Harrison Ashby to put the ball into the back of the net to make 1-0 West Ham.

37 mins: GOAL – West Ham 1-1 Wolves (Ashby OG)

Wolves got back in to the game when Lee Mcloughlin crossed into the box but unfortunately Ashby struggles to control and puts the ball in to the back of his own net.

HALF TIME

The 2nd half started similarly to the 1st half, West Ham nearly took the lead when defender Will Greenidge drove forward from a deep position, combining well with Earthy & Mubama, before unleashing his shot which narrowly went wide.

We were half way through the 2nd half and West Ham were really dominating possession, holding onto the ball, trying to push forward and create chances but with no final product.

79 mins: PENALTY GOAL – West Ham 2-1 Wolves (Mubama)

But our hard work pays off when Harrison Ashby’s cross is met with a volley that hits the Wolves defender on the arm, the referee points to spot in which Divin Mubama makes no mistake by smashing the ball into the back of the net sending the keeper the wrong way.

84 mins: GOAL – West Ham 3-1 Wolves (Mubama)

That man again Mubama put’s the ball into the back of the net thanks to great work from our tenacious midfielder Forson who breaks free, unleashes a shot which is saved but Divin is there to pounce on the ball and tuck it away to make it 3-1.

FULL TIME

A great 1st win by the U21’s in the Premier League 2
