David Moyes has gave West Ham fans an update on Nayef Aguerd ahead of the final group game in the Europa Conference League. Aguerd made his competitive debut v Silkeborg last week and impressed in his 70 odd minutes he received.
Aguerd was David Moyes 1st Summer Signing in the 2022 transfer window and was unfortunately injured in a pre season friendly in Glasgow v Rangers. He has been working extremely hard to get back to fitness with one eye on the world cup with his native Morocco.
And David Moyes has updated us on Aguerd’s status ahead of the game on Thursday evening. Moyes told the media
“We hope Nayef can play again, hopefully as long as he can, We’re trying to get him back and these games have been really good for him.
“We included him the squad from the start because we hoped he might be available for the last couple of games, and that’s the way it’s proved to be. Hopefully we can get him another good part of a game under his belt.”
This is great news and hopefully this can be the start of things to come. Aguerd did not feature in the matchday squad v Manchester United and Moyes has hinted at Aguerd potentially not featuring in the Premier league before the world cup.
But never say never!
