MANCINI WARNED SCAMACCA

Italian national coach Roberto Mancini warned Gianluca Scamacca ahead of his transfer to West Ham this summer.

Mancini Warning

Mancini warned him that playing for West Ham would be a challenge, but the striker has vowed to improve on his performances.

Scamacca who has played 13 times in the Premier League this season for West Ham has scored 2 goals and failed to put the ball in the net in his last 8 appearances. But its not just down to Scamacca to get the goals.

Slow Start

Since moving to the club it has been a very stop start to his career in London so far. Slowly eased into the Starting XI by Moyes , then suffering from a nasty virus which kept him out of a few games.

But Scamacca has not hid away from the fact that the team and he have been underperforming this season so far. He said..

It is very different (in the Premier League). It’s another country, another league. In Italy it is tactical. Here it is fast and physical. But it will get better”

“He (Roberto Mancini) said it’s a big opportunity to grow up. He said when it’s difficult you can grow up. You have to adapt to a different way of playing. It just takes time. He said: ‘Work hard and you will see the results.’ Over the last few games we’ve been unfortunate. I’m very happy to be here. It’s been a little difficult but I’m very excited to be in this team.”
