LOPETEGUI ADDRESSED THE MEDIA ON THE KUDUS SITUATION

West Ham United manager Julen Lopetegui addressed the media ahead of their Premier League match against Ipswich Town.

The week has been tumultuous for the Hammers, with reports of a dressing room clash between Lopetegui and Mohammed Kudus during the Brentford game. Kudus, who was substituted at half-time for Carlos Soler, did not take the decision well. As West Ham prepares for their upcoming match against Ipswich on Saturday, it remains to be seen if Kudus will retain his spot in the starting lineup. Lopetegui discussed the incident and provided team updates for the Ipswich game.

When asked about Kudus and Lucas Paqueta, Lopetegui emphasized the importance of team play over individual performances:

“It’s crucial for the team to perform well collectively. Football is a team sport, and the only way to be strong is to play as a unit.”

He reiterated that Kudus’s substitution was a tactical decision, highlighting the improved team performance in the second half against Brentford:

“The second half was about teamwork, which is a significant step forward.

“I praised the team’s behavior because we executed what we needed on the pitch”
