HAMMERS ‘HOME ALONE’ THIS CHRISTMAS?

West Ham opting for no warm weather training during World Cup break

With the World Cup break from Premier League action underway, a recent report from The Athletic reveals each Premier League’s plans for the six week break – with West Ham being one of three clubs who aren’t planning on warm weather training.

With the high temperatures in Qatar, nine Premier League clubs have opted to set up camp in surrounding areas such as Abu Dhabi, Dubai and Saudi Arabia including Arsenal our Boxing Day opponents. The longest distance camp is Everton’s who have decided to travel to Australia to feature in the Sydney Super Cup – with against Celtic and A-League side Western Sydney Wanderers.

Other clubs opting to say in good ol’ Blighty include Southampton (they did have a camp based in Miami set up before Ralph Hasenhüttl was sacked with Nathan Jones still weighing his options), Spurs and possibly Leeds as well. Again, there were planning for Leeds to set camp in San Francisco, however after a set of poor results this has been pulled in favour of staying put, or possibly a last minute deal to Spain!

Our current World Cup break friendlies are Cambridge in early December before a trip to West London to face Fulham in mid December – with ticket information for the later being released by the club today.
