DEC TO BE OFFERED BUMPER DEAL TO STAY AT WEST HAM?

West Ham are allegedly preparing to offer West Ham captain, Declan Rice, a bumper £250,000 a week deal in an attempt to keep him at the club.

Rice was quoted in a recent interview whilst on World Cup duty saying that he wants to win trophies, play in the Champions League and many fans felt this was an indication that he will soon be leaving West Ham for pastures new – most likely to a leading European club.

However, these recent reports suggest that perhaps West Ham haven’t given hope in maintain Dec’s services and falls in line with the view that the club will try everything in their power to keep him at London Stadium.

The £180m investment in the squad over the summer was also seen as an indication of the clubs ambitions, the appointment of Mark Noble as Sporting Director (a close friend of Dec’s) again can be an indication on the direction of the club and now with the bumper contract offer on top. It’s certainly not for the want of trying.

Rice was offered a £200,000 a week contract on a number of occasions which was almost immediately turned down by his representatives (his Dad, Sean being his lead agent). Which again suggests that it’s not about money with Declan and it is about ambition, winning trophies and playing at the highest level.

The £250.000 offer looks certain to suffer the same fate as previous attempts and will probably in all likelihood be the last the board will offer.
